3rd Day Rising were a Christian hard rock/metal band from Wales, UK. Forming around 1990, they played together, through a number of personnel changes, throughout the ’90’s before finally fading away in 2004.

This Welsh band first released a four-track cassette demo titled “Time”, then in 1995 independently released their debut album “Paper Chains”. Playing extensively throughout the UK, 3rd Day Rising continued to hone their talents before entering Sonic 1 Studios with acclaimed producer Tim Hamill in 1998. 5 tracks were recorded before a change of bass players held things up, but the band would eventually return to the studio to complete their second album “Spiral”.

“Spiral” is a unique hybrid of metal, hard rock and alternative. Imagine combining Galactic Cowboys, Bride, The Cult, Ugly Kid Joe and Dig Hay Zoose and you might get an idea of the creative and dynamic sound that 3rd Day Rising captured on this album. “Spiral” is full of quality musicianship on well-crafted and produced songs – driving, hooky, confident, crunchy, groovy, strong, chunky hard rock/heavy metal songs!

With a 2025 remaster by Paul D. Clifford and brand-new layout by Scott Waters/NoLifeTilMetal, it’s time to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of “Spiral”. If you like your metal mixed with other flavors, then 3rd Day Rising is your band!
