Anger As Art was formed over twenty years ago by thrash veteran Steve Gaines, known for his work in Bloodlust, Abattoir and Tactics. The album was originally recorded with Steve playing all instruments. Since that time the band has recorded and released six more albums and has been on multiple world tours, touring with Destruction, Overkill, Testament, Death Angel, Exodus, Saxon, Agent Steel, Tankard, Onslaught, Katatonia, and ex-Iron Maiden vocalists Bayley and DiAnno. In fact, Anger As Art has former members of Abattoir, EvilDead, Bloodlust, Hirax, Death, Manowar, Raven, Heretic, Bitch. These guys are seasoned musicians.
This album is humble beginnings for Anger As Art, but don’t mistake that description for weak. This album is pure thrash metal glory! Fast, heavy riffs, aggressive vocals, soaring guitar solos, a dynamic rhythm section and solid, memorable songwriting.
The 2025 reissue features remastered sound from Rob Colwell (Nevermore, Accu§er, Flotsam & Jetsam, Voïvod). The vinyl has a gorgeous full color insert and is pressed on heavyweight orange vinyl. The CD is housed in a jewel case with a booklet stuffed with lyrics, photos and exhaustive liner noes from Steve Gaines himself. Both CD and vinyl include four bonus live tracks, including a vicious Sepultura cover.
